Hello and greetings blog readers! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am going to explore the wonderful world of It's Just Lunch - a match-making service. At first the idea of having 2 interviews just to get taken on as a client was daunting, but thankfully I've charmed my way in...not sure if it was my personality, good looks, or checkbook...but I'm in :)
The phone interview was pretty simple - they ask some questions - see what you like in a potential partner, what you personally enjoy doing, and then they tell you the price. Let's just say this is the most expensive dating endeavor I've ever attempted...however, I have to admit...it sounds like it may be worth it.
The face to face interview happened today and my consultant was super nice. I basically filled out a profile on what I'm looking for in a partner and then basic info about myself. Here was my favorite part:
On one form, a column was entitled "Activities". Here I could specify what activies I "Often" or "Occasionally" do. Most of the items were outdoor things like Hiking, Fishing, Camping, Skiing, etc. So my consultant sees I don't have Fishing or Camping marked and says: "Would you be willing to try fishing or camping if a potential match was interested in those activities?" Now here, I may have lied and said "yes of course! I'm such an open person"...but this great dating experiment is to find my true match so I needed to keep it real...so I say "Um, no...I don't really sleep on the ground." She loved it :)
Overall, a great experience with IJL so far. I'm supposed to receive a phone call tomorrow with my first match! My maiden voyage lunch date is probably only days away. Get pumped and stay tuned.
It's Just Lunch...this just got interesting.
Jenny, Im superpumped about your lunch date. Cant wait to hear what happens. Great blog. P.S. I still use the word "fuck" to describe nice things.
