Happy Tuesday blog readers! So glad you've joined me again for more adventures in dating. Tonight I'm exposing the harsh truth about eHarmony...
So last night I'm super pumped to find 2 guys have "started communication" with me on the online dating site. I love the set-up of the site...it's like dating for procrastinators. Basically, instead of immediate contact with a person, you send each other "ice breakers", like 5 multiple choice questions that you pick from a list of 20. I thought it was ingenious since it eases you in...this set well with me.
Now, as you can imagine, I'm all pumped with my 2 ice breaker situations when I suddenly notice a tab for "Closed Communications"...I click on it only to find 20 guys who have already rejected me without even saying hello! YIKES.
Please note, when using eHarmony you cannot just close a communication, you have to give a reason. Here's where it gets harsh. The reasons you can select are part of a list of 20 or so and are supposed to help you figure out why someone has closed communication. The only problem is, it's a major ego downer! Most of my closed matches said they didn't want to communicate because they "Don't feel the chemistry is there." Uh...what chemistry?? You've never even met me! Then there's the worst one..."Other". What does that even mean?? Do they think I'm that bad that I'm "Other"??
Final eHarmony thoughts for the night...Is honesty really the best policy? And is choosing "Other" really being that honest?
"Other" could be that they were over powered by your beauty! Trying to think of something positive! I still believe honesty is the best policy! What were some of your reasons to "close" communication?

Some of my main reasons were -
--mention of guns in their profile (uh yeah...I said guns)
--douche-y pics (i.e. shirtless, leaning on a car, with hideous sunglasses on)
--poor responses to easy questions
--looks
I have to admit...I did occasionally use the "Other" function myself...mega-hypocrite!
Sometimes it's useful when you don't know what to say.
